Kawa Ijen Is the biggest crater lake in Java. The sulfur crater lake lies in sulfatara of deeply rock. It is 200meters deep and contains about 36 million cubic meters of steaming acid water.
Kawa ijen is the one of the mosts popular tourist destination in eastjava, passing through coffee plantation before you reach the entrance to go to the view poit to see the crater. On the way, you will meet some sulfur minners who carrying about 60 to 100 kg of sulfur stone. Just using the bamboo basket, they bring it on their shoulder, wow, it’s so strong….
To go to Kawa ijen, it can be reach from any destination, like from ketapang ferry port, Surabaya, or the next destination after from mt. Bromo ( on the next day ).
